Atura Power selected the Niagara Region as their first Ontario site for commercial-scale hydrogen production. The Niagara Hydrogen Centre will also be Ontario’s largest green hydrogen production facility, with a hydrogen production capacity of 20 MW, utilizing proton exchange membrane electrolysis technology to split water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules using electricity delivered behind-the-meter from the Sir Adam Beck II Generating Station, with water sourced from the Niagara River.
